    JOHNSON CITY -- Firefighters were working to cut fire lines around a wildfire in Northeast Tennessee.

 



    Charlotte McKeehan, who served in the Carter County Clerk and Master's Office of Chancery Court for 56 years, died Thursday at her residence, after a lingering illness.

 



    "I started riding motorcycles when I was two with my granddaddy," D.Q. recalled. "Both of my granddaddies rode." He also had uncles who were bikers.

    The 1971 graduating class of Hampton High School will have a reunion on Saturday, May 10. The reunion will be held at Shirley's Restaurant in Butler at 6 p.m.

 



    "PROM NIGHT." A dark secret amongst a group of children comes back to haunt them in the form of a vengeful killer on their prom night. Rated PG-13. Starring: Brittany Snow, Johnathon Schaech, Brianne Davis, Kelly Blatz and Jana Kramer. Showtimes: Tuesday-Friday: 5, 7 and 9 p.m.; Saturday: 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 p.m.; Sunday: 1, 3, 7 and 9 p.m.

 



    City Council has taken steps that hopefully will ease Elizabethton's water woes after unanimously approving two resolutions that focus on improving the city's water situation.

    Interfaith Hospitality Network of Greater Johnson City will host the event on Sunday, May 18, from 2-4 p.m. at 208 W. Fairview Ave., adjacent to the IHN Day Center. A brief program will be held at 3 p.m. with guest speaker, Phil Roe, Mayor, Johnson City. Guests are invited to tour the new Family Resource Center and learn about new services for IHN families and community ministries. Music will be provided by the Wesley Praise Team. Refreshments will be served.

 



    Northeast Neighborhood Watch, serving the communities of Elk Mills/Poga, Little Milligan, Buntontown and surrounding areas, will hold a meeting at the Elk Mills/Poga Volunteer Fire Department on Saturday, May 17, at 7 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend.

 



    The students of Erin Carder and Amanda Leach will present a piano and vocal recital at Central Baptist Church, 300 N. Roan St., Johnson City, at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 10.

 



    "I love you, I appreciate you and I will be with you for another ten months," President of East Tennessee State University Dr. Paul E. Stanton said Thursday in a tearful goodbye to members of the ETSU Foundation at their annual meeting.
