Humphrey: meeting did not violate Sunshine Law
A Thursday morning meeting between county officials and representatives from the Carter County Rescue Squad did not violate the statutes of the Sunshine Law. That’s according to County Mayor Leon Humphrey, who was one of several elected officials present at the meeting.
On Thursday, several members of the Carter County Commission and other elected officials met with EMS Director Terry Arnold, Assistant Director Anthony Roberts and rescue squad attorney Richard Norris at the mayor’s office at the county courthouse. Representing the county at the meeting were Budget Committee Chair Harry Sisk, Financial Management Committee Chair Jo Ann Blankenship and County Commission Chairman Tom “Yogi” Bowers. In addition to the commissioners, Finance Director Ingrid Deloach, Emergency Management Agency Director Andrew Worley, County Attorney Keith Bowers and Sheriff Chris Mathes were also in attendance at the session.
