Just like Zeus who took the skies and Poseidon who took the seas, North Greene took round one in the “Clash of the Titans at Claude Holsclaw Field on Friday.
It took nine innings for the Huskies to knock off Unaka 6-4 in a game that lived up to its billing.
North Greene (7-0, 20-3) clinched the Watauga Valley Conference championship for the second consecutive year. The Huskies will play the Rangers, who will enter the district tournament as the second seed, at home on Monday.
NG had built a 4-2 lead on a pinch hit solo home run from Austin Holland in the sixth inning, but Unaka came back to tie the game in dramatic fashion in the seventh.
