JOHNSON CITY — After a poor start to the second half, Happy Valley coach Larry Abel had a message for his starters: Have a look at the bench.
The Lady Warriors responded in the final stretch, overcoming a five-point deficit to rally past University High 49-46 Monday at Brooks Gymnasium.
Mackenzie Blankenship scored a game-high 17 points to key Happy Valley (9-8), which fought from a 10-point first quarter deficit and used a 12-2 second-quarter run to take a four-point lead over University High (7-8) at the half.

Marcus Taylor caught fire from outside and the Warriors were left playing catch-up.
Taylor connected with six treys en route to a game-high 31 points as the Junior Bucs rolled.
