Injured stars deprived chance at state tournament

MURFREESBORO — Making the state tournament can be a difficult task without your best player on the floor, but winning when you get down there becomes even harder.
That’s what Hampton was faced with on Wednesday and Elizabethton will encounter today because two of the top guards in Northeast Tennessee had their seasons cut short due to ACL injuries.
Hampton’s Dorothy Dugger saw her senior season end two weeks ago in the district semifinals against North Greene.
