Investigators waiting for lab results in double murder

The double murder and arson investigation in Roan Mountain is continuing pending the return of lab results.

Carter County Sheriff Chris Mathes said Tuesday that investigators are continuing to work on the case and are awaiting the return of lab work. Investigators had collected a large amount of evidence since the victims, Joyce Brock, 61, and Russell Glen Shell, 54, were discovered in a metal garage at 120 Hemlock Lane off Hampton Creek Road in Roan Mountain on June 26.
