The Johnson City Area Arts Council invites children ages 3-12 years to bring their imaginations to the second annual Halloween street party in downtown Johnson City from 6:30-8 p.m.

Children may venture down the secret path, which will be a place for new adventures geared to the young child. They can join the fun in decorating masks, creating mystical animals and listening to enchanted tales. As a special treat, Mountain Movers Dance Company will teach kids movement and dance that will mesmerize the creatures of the night and delight the pixies and trolls wherever they dwell in the deep, dark forest.

Children should wear costumes to the event and line up at 6:30 p.m. at the corner of Grimm Street and the old oak tree, where they can listen to the secrets of the wise old owl. The cost per child will be $5, which includes all activities.

Money raised will go to support Arts Corps, a free, after-school arts education program that develops creative habits of mind. The event will conclude at 8 p.m.

Buffalo Mountain Camp will host a relief concert from 7 to 10:30 p.m. in Majestic Park. Featured arts will include John Suits, The Aaron Jackson Band and The Whiskey Sticks. John Suits will begin with a performance at 7 p.m. followed by The Aaron Jackson Band at 8 p.m., followed by The Whiskey Sticks at 9:30 p.m. There will be opportunities to make donations to the relief effort and sign up for a day of service taking place Oct. 27 known as Impact.

Buffalo Mountain Camp hopes to raise awareness about the needs at the camp and funding for rebuilding.
