Clif and Hannah Jensen have been involved at the Doe River Gorge since the ministry opened its doors in 1995, first as volunteers and then as full-time employees. Prior to working at Doe River Gorge, they worked in the international mission field and was located in Brazil for nine years.
The Jensens first met as students at Cedarville University in Ohio. They arrived in East Tennessee in the 1970s when Clif attended classes at Moody Aviation. After completing their education at Moody they started to work with the Association of Baptists for World Evangelism, where they stayed for 19 years. It is during their time with the ABWE that they decided to serve as missionaries in Amazonas, Brazil.
Clif said they chose to go to Brazil because they heard about the needs of the area at that time and felt that was where they could help the most. The couple was friends with some other missionaries already involved in the aviation ministry who told them that more pilots were needed in Brazil.
