Jessica Nixon to perform Saturday at local eatery
Country recording artist Jessica Nixon and her very talented band, River Run, will perform Saturday, July 14, at Elizabethton restaurant Smokehouse BBQ Company from 7 to 10 p.m.
The Smokehouse outdoor stage will come alive with the exciting sounds of country music and Nixon’s electrifying voice on Saturday evening. Admission is free. Nixon will be performing some of her original songs along with many traditional favorites from country to rock-n-roll.
Nixon is an up and coming country star from the area that has been attracting a lot of media and label attention lately because of her incredible talent and captivating stage presence. She has performed at literally hundreds of local events, including the Food City 250 at Bristol Motor Speedway, The Freedom Hall Fireworks Display, the Winged Deer Park Concert Series, Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion, Jonesborough’s Music on the Square, Unicoi’s Freedom Fest, the dedication of the Johnson City Veteran’s Memorial and Nashville’s The Stage, James Gang Company and countless others. She has opened for Linda Davis, Ty Herndon, Ricochet, Bradley Gaskin, IIIrd Time Out and the Boxcars. She has also performed on the same program with Jimmy Fortune and Aaron Tippin.
Nixon recently recorded her demo, produced by Grammy Award Winning Singer/Songwriter, Linda Davis, at the Sound Stage studio in Nashville with some of the finest musicians and engineers the town could offer.
In May of this year, she graduated cum laude from the Bill Gatton College of Pharmacy with her Doctorate of Pharmacy. She recently returned from Nashville where she performed at Linda Davis’ “Stars on the Rise” radio program. The rest of the year promises to be the start of an exciting new chapter in Nixon’s life as she propels her career to the next level with her Showcase scheduled for July 31 at Nashville’s live music venue, The Rutledge.
