A Cannonball ride” from Hooterville to Pixley could not have produced more whistles than what was heard in Mountain City during Friday night’s boys game. After two hours of play and a combined 63 free throws, Johnson County defeated Cloudland 64-57 at Ray Shoun Gymnasium.
Some of that might have been contributed to the players still being in football mode. Five of Cloudland’s top six spent last Friday night on the gridiron. And three of Johnson County’s top half-dozen were also trying to make the transition back.
