Jr. Highlander teams top Hampton

Tuesday night’s frigid weather wasn’t enough to deter fans of Carter County hoops, who have something to look forward to in the years to come.

In middle school basketball action, Cloudland pulled off a varsity sweep during a pair of high-octane contests against Hampton at Sonny Smith Gymnasium.

The Lady Jr. Highlanders held off a late rally to collect a 40-31 victory, while nightcap stole the show with a late stretch put on by the Jr. Highlanders proving to be the decider in the 47-37 decision.
