Jr. Longhorns take Little Watauga tournament


A sluggish beginning.
Unbearable weather conditions in Mountain City.
Johnson County Middle School’s baseball team remained on top at season’s end.
The home-standing Longhorns wrapped up their second straight Little Watauga Conference tournament championship on Thursday night. Johnson County prevailed over Providence Academy 8-7 in extra innings.
“We came on late,” Johnson County coach Julian Crews said.
The Longhorns finished 13-5, after a 1-4 start. Johnson County won 12 of its last 13 games.
