Thursday evening offered another setback for Unaka’s middle school football team.
Tri-Cities Christian invaded Goddard Field and unleashed a 35-0 whipping on the Rangers.
“We’ve got fifth-graders, sixth-graders and seventh-graders that have never played a snap of football in their life until this year,” Unaka coach Donald Ensor said. “You cannot replace that. You can’t replace experience.
“You can’t buy it, or go get it. They’ve either have played it, or they’ve not.”
The Rangers (0-3) were out-gained on the ground 184 yards to 30. In fact, Unaka didn’t accumulate positive yardage in the second half.
