Happy Valley and Hampton could make a Tiddlywinks game exciting. They did the same with a junior varsity football game on Monday night at J.C. Campbell Stadium.
The Bulldogs built a 28-6 lead at the half and then held on for a 34-28 win.
Hampton coach Gary Keith said the game kind of mirrored last year’s contest.
“We had a big lead down there and they came back and almost beat us,” said Keith. “But it’s a good game for both teams. We’ve got a lot of young kids that we’re trying to play and I’m sure they do to. We’ll probably have to use them some on Friday’s with all the injuries. This is good experience for them”
