Kellermans rely on faith while serving at Doe River Gorge

By

When missionaries answer God’s call to work in the mission field, it is a step of faith as they put their trust in God’s plan for their lives. For Matt and Tracy Kellerman, that step of faith was followed by a 10-year journey before Matt was placed in the mission field that he had long desired to work in.

Matt and Tracy Kellerman are full-time missionaries associated with Doe River Gorge. Matt is one of two maintenance men and Tracy maintains the family blog and newsletters detailing their work. They have five chlidren: Gabe, Bellah, Chloe, Ava and Sadie.

Matt is now one of the full-time maintenance workers, and a full-time missionary, at Doe River Gorge, where he started working this March. Before finding his place at Doe River Gorge, Matt worked in a variety of fields after graduating from Moody Aviation in 2002 as an aviation mechanic. Tracy said that Matt felt the call to be a missionary while on a mission trip to Honduras as a teenager which is what led him to attend Moody Aviation. After graduation, he did not feel a call to the international mission field and started to work local jobs while waiting for the mission opportunity for him. Also, the couple was married shortly after his graduation and Tracy attended nursing school. She chose to quit nursing school and become a stay-at-home mom after learning she was pregnant with their third child.
