BRISTOL — Kyle Busch was unable to fulfill his prophecy of a Bristol sweep. Teammate Matt Kesneth, on the other hand, delivered the goods for Joe Gibbs Racing.
Kenseth surged ahead after the eighth caution and maintained the pace over the final 125 laps to take Saturday’s Irwin Tools Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway.
“It’s this race team, it isn’t me,” said Kenseth. “Bristol is a special place. This is the best race car I’ve had here in a long time.”
The win marks Kenseth’s fifth of the Sprint Cup season and third career victory underneath the lights at BMS.
