Knoxville Police pull man to safety
KNOXVILLE (AP) — Knoxville Police officers have pulled to safety a man who jumped from a bridge into Fort Loudoun Lake.
According to The Knoxville News Sentinel, a witness flagged down an officer about 3 a.m. Thursday and said he saw a man jump from the Gay Street Bridge.
The officer saw a man struggling in the water and radioed for two other policemen to go to Volunteer Landing. There, the officers threw floats to the man. They then leaned over the water from a houseboat and pulled him to safety.
