Lady Bulldogs brace for Jackson County

When Dorothy Dugger succumbed to injury in the District 1-A semifinals, many thought the Lady Bulldogs would crumble. But Hampton proved it was one tough cookie and now finds itself facing another giant obstacle in the first round of the Class A state tournament.
Upset wins over North Greene in the Region 1-A semifinals and on the road at Grace Christian in the substate have earned coach Leon Tolley and his Lady Bulldogs a trip to Murfreesboro.
Hampton (27-9) will play Jackson County (30-3) at 6:30 (EST) Wednesday in the Murphy Center at Middle Tennessee State University. The Lady Blue Devils finished runner-up to Clay County last year.
