Lady Bulldogs get 3-point happy at UH

JOHNSON CITY— People who braved the 12-degree temperature on Friday night got to witness some “rain and heat” inside of Brooks Gymnasium. Hampton “rained” down a 9-of-15 effort (60%) from behind the three-point line in the first half, leading to its 61-39 win over University High.

The main culprit was Monica Olvera, who shot 5-of-6 from beyond arc — sinking four attempts during the first quarter.

Hampton led 20-3 after one. It was a great start according to its head coach, Buddy Hazelwood.

“It wasn’t nothing special, we were just running our offense — moving the basketball,” said Hazelwood.
