Lady Bulldogs get past Hancock

SNEEDVILLE — Already Hampton’s girls are regrouping after losing their top scorer, and Friday night presented another challenge in imposing Harley Jessee.
The Lady Bulldogs held Hancock County’s 6-foot-3 center scoreless in the second and third quarters, before emerging victorious 50-38 in the Region 1-A basketball tournament quarterfinals.
“It’s a tough place to play,” Hampton coach Leon Tolley said. “They played a style that is hard to play against, but I told the girls if you come on the road you can’t expect it to be easy — because it’s certainly not going to be easy Monday night against North Greene.”
