Lady Bulldogs land in Honda title game
GRAY — The ’Dogs were let loose in the fourth quarter.
Dorothy Dugger tossed in a game-high 25 points as the Hampton Lady Bulldogs (12-3) rallied from a 12-point deficit in the third quarter to punch their ticket to the third annual Johnson City Honda Trailblazer Classic championship with a 54-53 win over Seymour Friday night.
Dobyns-Bennett came up with the other spot in the championship contest after knocking off the host school, Daniel Boone, in the nightcap 49-47.
“We’re just going to let the chips fall into place,” HHS head coach Leon Tolley said. “Our goal was to play in the first game and to play in the last, and we were able to do that. We match up with Dobyns-Bennett the same way as the rest of the teams in the tournament.”
