Lady Bulldogs repel Blue Devils

By

Alexis Bowers and Kim Swearingen combined for 33 points and helped the Lady Bulldogs (6-3) score a 48-41 non-conference victory over Unicoi County (5-5) Friday night at VanHuss-White Gym.

The win came at a key time for HHS, which has learned that senior post Paige Montgomery will miss the remaining of the season due to a leg injury.

“We needed a win just to give us some confidence,” Lady ‘Dogs coach Leon Tolley said. “Since last Saturday when Paige went down and the players found out she’d be out for the year, a lot of people gave up on us. But we’re not dead. We’re changing what we do and hopefully we might be harder for somebody to guard when we go small.”
