Hampton’s girls got in sync when needed.
Despite trailing most of the first half, the Lady Bulldogs circled their wagons and disposed of Johnson County 57-42 on Tuesday night in non-conference basketball action at VanHuss-White Gymnasium.
“Give Johnson County credit,” Hampton coach Leon Tolley said. “They came out here ready to play. We missed a couple of shots early, got in foul trouble and got down on ourself. We dug a hole, and put us in an all too familiar pattern.”
The Bulldogs (15-4), ranked 10th in the state among Class A schools, sweeps the season series. But like the first meeting, this was no gimme against an upcoming Johnson County (5-13) program.
