Lady Bulldogs withstand pesky Johnson County

Hampton’s girls got in sync when needed.
Despite trailing most of the first half, the Lady Bulldogs circled their wagons and disposed of Johnson County 57-42 on Tuesday night in non-conference basketball action at VanHuss-White Gymnasium.
“Give Johnson County credit,” Hampton coach Leon Tolley said. “They came out here ready to play. We missed a couple of shots early, got in foul trouble and got down on ourself. We dug a hole, and put us in an all too familiar pattern.”
The Bulldogs (15-4), ranked 10th in the state among Class A schools, sweeps the season series. But like the first meeting, this was no gimme against an upcoming Johnson County (5-13) program.
