Lady Cyclones battle from behind

By

In what was a scrappy volleyball match, the Elizabethton Lady Cyclones used what was a total team effort that was sparked by kids who don’t necessarily rack up the kill numbers like others, but came up in a huge way.

Propelled by the defense of libero Summer Reece and a great all-around game by Abbi Pierce, the Lady Cyclones were impressive in a 21-25, 25-14, 25-16, 25-23 victory over Unicoi County at Treadway Gym Tuesday night.

While usually the focus is on big hitters like Hannah Hulshult, Megan Pietrowski and part-time setter and hitter Kelsi McKamey, this match was more about being scrappy and showing heart.
