ERWIN — Elizabethton’s volleyball team simply ran out of steam in Tuesday night’s District 1-AA tournament semifinals.
Top seed Sullivan South, which didn’t lose a Three Rivers Conference match this season, rolled 3-0.
“We used so much energy last night, and it’s hard to do that two nights in a row,” Elizabethton coach Leslee Bradley said. “We gave South a pretty good game the last time we faced them in the conference, and they knew that. They were ready to bring it, so they played an outstanding match and we couldn’t match their ability.”
The Rebels dominated the first game 25-11, the second set 25-12 and the third 25-15.
