A red-hot Lady Cyclone softball team was hoping to find the weather to its liking this week at Myrtle Beach, S.C., but so far the Lady Cyclones have had to supply their own heat.
Their bats have been sizzling. but cold temperatures have hindered the defense.
’Betsy has begun tournament play at 8 a.m. in the morning on back-to-back days. And Tuesday’s temperature was 32 degrees when the first pitch was thrown. The Grand Strand Classic has been a mixed bag, according to head coach LeAnne Click.
“We’ve been killing the ball, but it’s really cold,” said Click. “We brought 15 players and we’re using them all. We have a chance to throw some different pitchers and play some younger people in different places. We’ll see what’s working for us down here and try and use it when we get back home.”
