Lady Cyclones pull away from HV in second half

By

When the Marosites twins are shooting well, it often spells double-trouble for the opposition. That was the case inside of Bayless Gymnasium on Tuesday in Happy Valley’s game with Elizabethton.

The state’s No. 2 ranked Lady Cyclones shot the lights out in their 79-45 win.

Happy Valley (2-4, 11-11) was still in the game trailing 43-33 with 6:48 remaining in the third quarter. But the Lady Cyclones proceeded to hit their next six shots to open up a sizable 57-35 advantage. ’Betsy shot 3-of-4 from behind the three-point arc and 7-of-7 from in front of it. That helped ease the mind of coach Len Dugger, who was missing starting post player Sarah Robinson — who was at home with the flu.
