Lady Cyclones pull away from Patriots

A 12-run eruption in the fifth and sixth innings did the trick for Elizabetton.
Danielle Loving delivered a 4-for-4 outing with five RBI and Lindsey Cunningham added a 10-strikeout performance on the mound to key the Lady Cyclones’ 13-2 home win Tuesday over Sullivan East.
Aside from Loving, six other Lady Cyclones had multiple-hit performances at the plate on the day, combining for 19 hits.
“The first few innings it was a close race between both of us,” said Elizabethton coach Leanne Click. “We both got on base and we just couldn’t push around both teams. Finally the fifth inning we unloaded on them and Danielle pulled through with some RBIs and a great hit that scored a couple. We kept hitting one after the other.”
