Dominating the boards inside with four players scoring in double figures, Elizabethton held onto a 30-13 halftime lead and rolled 53-31 in Wednesday’s Ramey Ford Thanksgiving Classic opener at Bayless Gymnasium, which began early due to the cancellation of the event’s games involving Sullivan South and University High.
“We started out real well. The thing I was most pleased with the girls came back and really played with a lot of energy and a lot of effort after playing a tough game (Tuesday) night on the road (at Hampton),” said EHS coach Len Dugger. “We just got up and down the floor tonight and had a lot of offensive possessions. I was pleased with the effort and we did some positive things.”
