Sullivan North stormed into John Treadway Gym on Tuesday night and first stole the momentum from Elizabethton High School, then stole its thunder, and finally the game itself in a Three Rivers Conference sweep of the Lady Cyclones.
The Lady Golden Raiders (5-8 overall, 3-2 TRC) trailed early in game one, but a nine-point run allowed North to steal the early momentum and take a 21-19 lead en route to a 25-21 win. North went on to sweep with 25-17 and 25-13 wins in games two and three.
We were playing extremely slow at that point,” explained Golden Raiders head coach Debby Booher. “We were letting them get to anything and everything and when I called that first timeout that’s what I talked about. We needed to set a faster tempo and play our way.”
