Lady Highlanders capture league title

The “Twin Towers” stood tallest, which allowed Cloudland to clinch the Watauga Valley Conference race.
Brooke Rhodes and Courtney Wilson combined for 44 points and 25 rebounds, leading the Lady Highlanders past Hampton 54-41 inside a jampacked Sonny Smith Gymnasium on Friday.
It was anybody’s game for three quarters, but Cloudland (7-1, 18-10) outscored Hampton 18-7 in the final one to put the game away.
