Lady Highlanders returning to Murfreesboro

Dwight Eisenhower once said that “no one can defeat us unless we first defeat ourselves.”
Those words were so true in Roan Mountain on Saturday night. Cloudland used its size advantage and toughness in the second half to hold off Oliver Springs 51-43 before a packed house inside of Sonny Smith Gymnasium.
For the second consecutive year, the Lady Highlanders will travel to Murfreesboro on Wednesday to play in the Class A state tournament — this after starting the season at 2-7.
