Lady Warriors blank Johnson County

Hot “Coffey” and her battery mate “brewed” up just what was needed on a cold, breezy night at Warrior Field. The duo of Kiara Coffey and Brittany Morefield played a huge role in Happy Valley’s 5-0 win over scrappy Johnson County.
Coffey went 3-for-3 and drove in four of the Valley’s five runs.
Morefield scattered six hits in her complete-game effort. Head coach Mike Dorsey agreed it was much needed on a night that the bats couldn’t get going.
“Kiara did a great job hitting the ball today and I thought Brittany pitched one heck of a game,” said Dorsey. “I hope we were saving up for Unicoi because we didn’t hit it well today.”
