Late runs lift Cyclones over Rangers

By

Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra once said “It ain’t over till it’s over.” And thus was the case between Elizabethton and Unaka at Claude Holsclaw Field on Saturday
The Rangers were within one out earning a 7-5 victory, but a couple of infield errors left the door open for a ’Betsy comeback. They did so by scoring five runs with two outs, then held off a last charge by the Rangers in a 10-8 non-conference win.
The two miscues allowed the tying runs to reach base. Back-to-back singles by Thomas Miller and Anthony Ward would even the game at 7-7.
