Late stand lifts Jr. Bulldogs

By

It was like watching a surgeon and symphony orchestra perform Thursday night at Warrior Hill.

Happy Valley’s Braden Sams did an admirable job of carving up Hampton’s defense, but his Warriors couldn’t stop the bleeding that a well-balanced Bulldog bunch had to offer.

It was “sweet music” for Hampton in their 32-30 win over Happy Valley that kept the Junior Bulldogs unbeaten on the season.

The ‘Dogs overcame a 16-point deficit with several players stepping up to make key plays. Head coach Daniel Arnett said it was all about team. They’ve been preaching that since the first day of practice.

“These kids don’t give up — they kept playing hard like they’re supposed to,” said Arnett. “They’re not scared of coming back. We play together as a team — they’re like a family. The linemen are our heart and soul.”
