A resident of Washington County, Courthouse, Ohio, he was a son of the late Lawrence Eugene and Helen Medley Furguson.
Mr. Furguson was of the Baptist Faith. He enjoyed refinishing furniture.
Survivors include his wife of 17 years, Pamela Silvers Furguson, Elizabethton; three daughters, Brittany Furguson and Keisha Furguson Trent, both of Kingsport, and Amanda Silvers, Johnson City; two sons, Shiloh Furguson, Blountville, and Jacob Furguson, of the home; four grandchildren; two sisters, Jeannie Cole, Dayton, Ohio, and Kay Farmer, Newport, Ky.; and three brothers, Steve Furguson, Jonesborough, John Furguson, Sibina, Ohio, and Carl Furguson, Piney Flats. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The graveside service for Mr. Furguson will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, September 30, in the Garland Cemetery with Rev. Paul Crowe officiating. Active pallbearers will be Wess Molor, Keith White, Scott Smith, Terry Carty, Shiloh Furguson and Dustin Hinkle. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, Elizabethton, at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, September 29.
