Samantha Legge will be running the New York City marathon on Nov. 4. She will be starting last
of 47,000 runners and is asking for pledges of 1 cent for each person she passes. The funds will be
used to benefit the Doe River Gorge summer camp and for scholarships for children whose families
cannot afford to send them to camp.
Samantha Legge is a mom on a mission. Not only is she a stay-at-home mom that homeschools her four children, she is also training to run the New York City Marathon on Nov. 4 as a fundraiser for the Doe River Gorge camp ministry.
Legge’s running campaign is called “A Penny A Pass.” She will be starting in last place behind the 47,000 other runners that are participating in the marathon. She is asking that people pledge one penny for every person she passes during the race. All of the money raised will go toward the Doe River Gorge Adventure Quest summer camp and for scholarships for children whose families cannot afford to send them to summer camp.
