Liberty Bell tops TAD girls in Middle 8 final

CHURCH HILL — Once Liberty Bell took command, there was no getting back for T.A. Dugger.
The Lady Patriots overcame a 5-0 deficit in the first quarter and rode a 21-point performance from tournament MVP Katelyn Phillips en route to a 42-33 win over the Lady Jr. Cyclones Thursday in the Middle 8 Conference title game at Church Hill Middle School.
T.A. Dugger, which jumped ahead with makes from Loren Campbell and Haley Burleson in the opening minutes, struggled from the field as its opponent built a lead that was too much to overcome.
