Liberty Championship show to benefit charity

Body slams, flying mares and side headlocks will definitely be on display when Liberty Championship Wrestling takes to the ring on Saturday night at the Erwin National Guard Armory.

The group is excited about being a pair of a fund-raiser for the Children’s Miracle Network.

CMN was established nationally in 1983 to help children by actively supporting improved health care for young people all around the world. CMN’s mission is to generate funds and awareness programs for the benefit of children served by it associated hospitals now numbering more than 170 nationwide. CMN is a year round fundraising and awareness campaign. It’s a unique organization that is committed to putting children first in all that is done. Liberty Championship Wrestling has teamed up with the Unicoi Wal-mart to host this event. It’s made up of several fantastic groups of outstanding wrestlers that are very talented and athletic.

LCW and all of its participants promise to put on a show that fans will be pleased to watch. It’s a family event that where kids and adults can come out and have a great time.

“Anytime LCW can do something that benefits the kids or a good organization we love helping out,” said wrestler Allen King. “We believe in helping out today’s youth any time that we can.”

King will team with his brother Daniel in a tag team match with “The Pride” and their manager Harry Jaminson. He gave fans a tidbit as to what to expect.

“Pure geniuses and awesomeness,” is what you’ll get when the King Brothers take to the ring,” said Daniel.

Added Allen, “Fans can expect to see some old school wrestling” on Saturday.

On the card with be such stars as LCW heavyweight champion Jeff Storm who will battle Jamie Gibson in the featured match. Brittany Diamond will square off with Rebecca Lynn in addition to several other matches featuring D.P. Holiday, Bryan Wayne, Greg Poe, Chance Gibson, Billy King and Shane Royal.

Bell time is 8 p.m. and the doors will open at 6:30.

Ticket prices for kids 7-12 is $2 in advance and $3 at the door. Adults 13 and over is $4 in advance and $5 at the door.

Fans can go by the Unicoi Wal-mart and get a flyer that will allow them a dollar off their ticket price.

Promoters Rebecca Jarnagin and Ashley Sims have worked countless hours trying to coordinate this event, which all goes to help a good cause.

“You can always count on Liberty Championship Wrestling to be family friendly, so bring your entire family out for a great show,” said Jarnagin. “Hopefully we can raise a lot of money for a great cause.”

Added Sims: “Everyone that is involved with LCW will put their whole heart and soul into the show. You can expect a lot of action and maybe a surprise or two. You never know who might show up.”

NOTE: Several prizes will be given away that night. Tickets for a $100 dollar gas card that will be given away during the show can be purchased in advance or at the door for a buck.

The Children’s Miracle Network will receive 100 percent of the proceeds from this event.
