By

Senior post Brian Dempsey dropped 30 points on Tuesday night at Ronnie L. Snavely Gym to help propel Johnson County to a 71-61 victory over the Unaka Rangers in non-conference play. For the girls, senior post Brandi Ensor scored a game-high 30 points in helping the Lady Rangers to a 61-47 win.

The Longhorns (6-5 overall) scored the first nine points of the game but led by just 13-10 at the end of the first quarter as Dempsey tallied 10 in the period.

“We scored the first nine points of the game,” said Longhorns head coach Austin Atwood. “The next time I looked up it was 13-10. Unaka plays hard, Coach Dugger does a good job with them and I feel fortunate to come here and get a win.
