KNOXVILLE — Scoring early and often on Johnson County Friday night in Knoxville, CAK defeating the Longhorns 56-19 to end their season.
It was only the third time the Longhorns had made it to the second round of the playoffs and, unfortunately, they had the two-time defending 3A state champions waiting on them.
“That’s a good team and they just outplayed us tonight,” Johnson County head coach Mike Atwood said.
“I feel like we did some good things in the first half. Then we just started making to many mistakes, dropped too many balls early in the game. Then they started blitzing a lot, and if you can’t pass against them you are in trouble.”
