BLUFF CITY — Johnson County’s football team dominated on Friday night, and the following morning was rewarded for its effort.
The Longhorns blasted Sullivan East 49-13 in the Three Rivers Conference regular-season finale at the Patriot Pasture. Johnson County (4-6) earned a Class 3A state playoff berth and quadrant one’s seventh seed, and visits No. 2 Chuckey-Doak (7-3) next Friday.
“We’ve been playing better, and we felt like we needed a big game,” Johnson County coach Mike Atwood said. “We had a good week of practice, and we’ve got a pretty good football team.”
