BRISTOL — For 12 minutes, Johnson County was having its way inside the Stone Castle. Then Peyton decided to turn it into his place.
Peyton Henley’s Manning-like numbers propelled Tennessee High to a 62-12 win over the Longhorns on Thursday night in the season opener for both teams.
The Vikings were tabbed as the preseason favorite in the Big Eight, but trailed 12-8 after one. That’s when Manning and the offense exploded for 54 unanswered points.
Johnson County head coach Mike Atwood said he wasn’t surprised. The game plan was to keep the THS offense off the field.
