Love 40: Azarenka overcomes odds with Aussie win

Have you ever felt like the whole world was against you and that other than your closest friends nobody was in your corner? Then you knew how Victoria Azarenka did in her three-set win over Na Li in the Australian Open championship match.

Azarenka won her second major title and defended her Australian Open Championship, but more importantly she was able to hold in all the hurt and pain she was going through until after the match.

Of course the reason people were against her was because of her questionable medical time out against rising star Sloane Stephens where she panicked and may have lied about injuries, only to serve the match out the next game in a 6-1, 6-4 controversial semifinal win.

Azarenka was battered and bruised in the worldwide press, on ESPN and among tennis fans. This set the stage for a home match for Na in the final.

Na Li (Chinese custom is last name said first) is very popular in Australia and she would have had the fans on her side anyway. She had even more after Thursday’s second semifinal.

Azarenka meanwhile, had every one in the world cheering against her and honestly I wasn’t pulling for her either with me being a big Sloane Stephens fan, but by the end of the match I actually felt sorry for her.

You see, I know what it is like to have the entire world dead set against you. I felt this way two years ago where I felt like I was Azarenka against the world.
It was a very lonely time in my life, but I had to find the inner strength to pull through the situation.
