Mary Emma Brown
“Boundless enthusiasm, energy and concern for each student” were words used to describe former English teacher Mary Emma Brown in her nomination for the Educators Hall of Fame.
Brown was an English teacher for 35 years. She taught her first year at Lebanon High School in Lebanon, Tenn., in 1946. The rest of her tenure was in the Elizabethton City School system, first at Elizabethton High School and then at T.A. Dugger.
