Preliminary discussions including local and state officials were held Friday on converting the Tennessee Technology Center Herman Robinson Campus at 1500 Arney St. to an Elizabethton-Carter County Career Technical Education Center.
All training programs now offered at the Herman Robinson Campus will be moved to TTC-Elizabethton’s Main Campus when a $16 million campus consolidation project is completed in January 2014. The project will replace the 30,000-square-foot training facility at the Herman Robinson Campus.
Kevin Ward, director of Carter County schools, initiated the joint meeting of city and county school representatives, state legislators and TTC-Elizabethton administrators. Other local elected and appointed government officials also attended the meeting, moderated by Dean Blevins, director of TTC-Elizabethton.
