Milligan climbs in U.S. News rankings, enrollment remains strong at 1,164 students

U.S. News & World Report released its 2013 “America’s Best Colleges” rankings this morning and Milligan College is the only Tri- Cities institution in the top 10 listings of any category.

In the Regional Colleges in the South classification, Milligan is ranked sixth overall, third among Best Value Schools, and sixth on the “A+ Schools for B Students” list.

In addition, Milligan announced its second-largest fall enrollment in the college’s history, with 1,164 students registered for fall classes. Last year, the college had an all-time high of 1,208. The previous record was in 2010, at 1,140.

Milligan has 882 traditional undergraduate students and 282 students in its graduate and professional studies programs enrolled this fall. Classes began Aug. 22.
