Milligan Highway head-on collision sends child to emergency room

This head-on collision on Milligan Highway sent one child to the emergency room on Monday afternoon.

A head-on collision closed a west Carter County road and sent a child to the emergency room.

On Monday afternoon, emergency crews responded to a call of an auto accident in the area of 1619 Milligan Highway.
Shortly after their arrival, one of the two vehicles’ passengers, a young boy, was taken to the Johnson City Medical Center with an apparent head injury.

In the accident report, Elizabethton Police Department Patrolman James Sexton reported that John Daniel Perry, 39, 161 South St., Elizabethton, was driving his 1979 Chevrolet pickup north on Milligan Highway when he crossed into the left lane and collided with a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by Hannah Rose Jenkins, 27, 604 Carter Blvd., Elizabethton.
