Milligan: Men’s soccer team edged by Wesleyan

By

Midway through the second half of the men’s soccer match between Milligan College and Tennessee-Wesleyan College, it looked like the Buffaloes might reverse a pair of negative trends by posting a shutout and getting a win with less that two goals.

Neither of those aspirations came to pass at Anglin Field on Saturday afternoon as the Bulldogs (4-1 AAC, 6-5 overall) rallied from a one-goal deficit to topple Milligan 2-1 in Appalachian Athletic Conference action.

Milligan (2-5 AAC, 2-9 overall) jumped on top with a goal in the 17th minute from sophomore Andre Ottoni. Senior striker Nimely Roberston was on a breakaway near the home sideline and fired a hard shot at Bulldogs goalkeeper Clark Lydon who made the stop but the rebound eluded him to where Ottoni pounced and drove the ball to the back of the net.
