Facing the tough schedule it went against the first half of the season and coming away with a 10-6 record, Milligan College’s women’s basketball team is quite pleased entering the second half of its Appalachian Athletic Conference stretch.
The Lady Buffs enter tonight’s road test at Virginia Intermont fresh off a pair of league victories last weekend against No. 25 Bryan College and Reinhardt University, following up from a tough road loss against ranked Campbellsville.
“We came back before New Year’s and had several good days of practice,” Milligan coach Rich Aubrey said Tuesday. “We played a really tough non-conference opponent in Campbellsville. We didn’t necessarily enjoy it, but it turned out to be good for us. They challenged us, then we came back and practiced harder and really prepared well for Bryan. We played well again on Saturday (against Reinhardt). We feel like we’re headed in the right direction and really coming together.”
